You know how you watch The Big Bang Theory, or Friends, or House, even though all the episodes are kinda the same? You watch b/c it’s still entertaining. That’s Mission Impossible: Rouge Nation. The MI franchise is nothing if not consistent. This one is entertaining and fun, but breaks no new ground. Tom Cruise plays the part of Tom Cruise, I mean Ethan Hunt, same as always; competent and energetic. The action is frequent and engaging, the whole movie is well paced. The acting, story, directing and special effects are par for the course. That probably isn’t generous enough, b/c the movie is surprisingly well put together, without the plot holes and eye rolling you get from a lot of action movies. Anyway, its good, but not like ‘run out and see it immediately’ good. They don’t cuss or bleed much, so the kids would be safe.
